Partners in Faith is a primarily a couples class, with an age range of 40-55 years old. Most are parents with children of college age or beyond. The class has approximately 36 members on the roll, and 14 to 18 are normally present. Several couples are regularly involved with "in-service" ministry in other areas of the Church during this time period.
The format is one of class discussion and participation, and although the class is currently following the MasterWork series, we will jump to other series or topics whenever the class decides it is appropriate. The disscussion normally centers around what we have learned from reading the lesson and how we may apply it to our lives. The atmosphere is kept informal and friendly.
The class schedules montly activities outside the church, such as parties in member's homes, dinner in area restaurants, bowling, outdoor concerts and even occasional weekend out of town trips.
If you are looking for a fun, caring group that loves applying the Lord's Word to your life, we'd love to see you on Sunday morning.

The Adam & Eve class, as the name implies, was originally established about fifteen years ago as a small group Bible study class for middle-aged adult couples. It has evolved today into a class serving adult couples, mostly mid-forties to mid-fifties, as well as several singles. To facilitate ministry to a large class like this (current enrollment is over 80 with average attendance between 50 and 60) we are organized into several small care groups.
We usually have between 8 and 10 large group social functions during the year as well as care group get-togethers. This is a good time to get to know each other on a more casual basis, and to find areas of mutual interest.
As mentioned above, even though we are technically a couple's class, several members have remained in the class after the death of a spouse or a divorce because of the strong bonds they have developed. We have also had several singles join, often because of pre-existing friendships with current class members. Even the mother of one of our members comes with her son because she feels more connected with this group than her own age group, and she's in her late 80's!
Whatever your situation or circumstance, you'll find a warm, caring group of people in the Adam & Eve class. We focus on helping people discover their ministry and finding a place of service. Many of our members have gone to teach other classes or work with the children. They remain on our "in-service" roll and participate in many of our activities to keep the friendship ties strong.
Dedicated Homemakers - Room 109
We are a group of women from many backgrounds. There is no firm age requirement, but the majority of the women are age 50-70. Actually, the only "age requirement" is to be young in heart. Our teacher encourages participation in a gentle, non-aggressive manner.
Our group includes singles, married, divorcees and widows, all of whom share a love of the Lord and a strong love and commitment to each other. We meet each month in a member's home for a class business meeting; this provides an opportunity for members to become better acquainted on a more personal level. We participate in several mission projects each year. Frequently, short trips, social events, and fun times are planned and these provide a very special fellowship. We also have at least one weekend retreat each year.
Although we are a very close-knit group of women who are dedicated to caring for, supporting, and encouraging each other, we enthusiastically welcome visitors and new members.

Wisdom Seekers - Room 119
"We speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began." (1 Corinthians 2:7)
The Wisdom Seekers class is a Bible study class of singles and couples interested in personal growth and development from a biblical perspective. We often deal with the difficult bibilcal questions in a responsible way that enables us to enrich our Christian walk and imporve our knowledge and thinking in seeking and following the will of God. Our class ages range from mid-forties to seventies, with a broad variety of Christian knowledge and experience, all leading to many spirited discussions, and Bible based thought.
Many of our class members are involved in a variety of other Church activities including choir, substitue teaching, Deacons, greeters, mission trips, children's classes and activities, 3-D, and women's ministries.
Several social events are planned each year to provide class members the opportunity to fellowship, developing and strengthening friendships, in a casual and caring atmosphere. These gatherings always have good food close by. The ladies also have a monthly luncheon, generally at one of the local restaurants.
Visitors will find very welcoming and caring people in the Wisdom Seekers class. We are praying people who have a heart for the needs of others, to grow to be like Christ, and to share our many blessings with the church and local community.
Class Format: Various approaches are used. They are always accompanied by lively discussion and probing questions.

All enjoy the Bible-based study with fellow students who are at different places in their journey to do God's will. We also have fun with ventures to homes and restaurants for more casual fellowship. Visitors are warmly received and encouraged to participate at whatever level they desire.
Class Format: Informal lecture & discussion

The Believers Small Group Bible Study began in May 1993. Lakewood was growing and there was a need for a couples class that people over 50 would enjoy. Two couples, Lewis & Sybil Eades and Dick & Johnnie Parker, were asked to help begin the class
The first morning, it seemed no one was going to come. Lewis turned to Sybil and asked, "Do you think anyone is going to come?" Sybil replied, "Yes, I believe they will come." That is how The Believers got its name.
God has blessed The Believers group with great members and good attendance each Sunday as we study God's word. Our age range at this time is very young 60's through 80's. We meet the third Thursday night of each month for a covered dish dinner, take day and overnight trips, do mission projects, send children to summer camp, and give Christmas to an underprivileged family each year.
If you are looking for a loving, caring, and fun group that loves studying about the Lord, please come join us.
